Please note: Despite the claims on the site, Chanel did not "create" the Little Black Dress. While it represented everything she stood for and was, no doubt, popularized by her, the little black dress had sprouted in fashion for several years before the Chanel LBD debuted in 1926. It is very doubtful that the design debuted in Vogue was truly the "first" LBD. However, her design did give the idea mass appeal.
