Luxe and Love with Bay Bella Publishing

Every once and while we get to do something really fun. On June 5th, Sophia and I attended the Luxe and Love Anniversary Event for Bay Bella Publishing's Mocha Bride and Bride Nine Magazine at the beautiful Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley. Glamorous!

This event gave me the opportunity to hang out with the other ladies from the magazine. It wasn't the getting-to-know-you time I would have liked, but I still enjoyed myself and got to see them out of the conference room. We danced the night away. I stuffed my face with mini cupcakes and wine, while Sophia sucked down oysters and chocolate covered oreos (She says they're divine btw.)

Sophia looked like an actress in a low-cut, black gown with tiered, ruffle hem and stunning, chandelier earrings. I rocked the house with retro glamour in my vintage, sequin, Oleg Cassini gown.

There were pitfalls. Because I work primarily from home, I didn't have the same connection to the other staffers, missing out on group photos and dance circles. Still, they noticed (and complimented) the dress!

LESSON: Make myself more visible. A stunning, vintage gown doesn't hurt.
